Our Policy & Terms of Service

Please read the following Terms of Service carefully before you agree to dog waste removal services from San Diego Scoop Squad.

TERMS OF SERVICE (revised 10/2022)

San Diego Scoop Squad is an independently owned and operated business (“us,” “we” or “our”) that provides pet-waste removal services to residential and commercial properties. You must agree to the following terms of service (“Terms”) that govern the sales and services provided by us (“Services”). By accepting the Services you hire us for, you are bound to these Terms.

The customer understands our ability to provide the Services can be dependent on weather, condition of yard (grass height, debris, etc.), access to your yard (which is your own responsibility), and other unknown outside influences.

BILLING

If you would like to sign up for recurring monthly services, San Diego Scoop Squad requires you to save a debit or credit card on file in our client portal, Jobber, for secure, automatic monthly payments. This ensures easy payment for you and guarantees that we are paid for the services we provide.

San Diego Scoop Squad pre-bills monthly for our services. Your first invoice is due the day your service starts. Each month afterwards, your account will be automatically charged on that same calendar date via automatic payment through our client portal, Jobber.

If your card is declined or your bill is unpaid for any reason, we will discontinue service immediately until the payment has been received. If more than 30 days have passed since your last clean up and you would like to resume services, an initial clean up fee will be applied.

One Time Cleanings require a deposit to hold your appointment time and the remainder of the cost will be billed directly after the service has been completed. Payment is due within 24 hours. If payment becomes more than 30 days late San Diego Scoop Squad will turn your account over to collections.

CANCELING SERVICES

When canceling monthly services, for billing purposes, please let us know 30 days in advance of your last weekly cleaning.

INITIAL CLEAN-UPS / ONE TIME CLEAN-UPS (Residential clients only)

Before starting one of our weekly services we require an initial cleaning which starts at $90. Pricing goes up from there depending on the condition of your yard and the amount of time it takes to thoroughly clean up all dog waste. Pricing also depends on the size & composition of your yard.

We require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment. This will go towards the final cost of your cleaning. We also require a 24-hour cancellation notice. If you cancel the appointment after the 24-hour window, your deposit will not be refunded. This protects us in case you cancel last minute and we can not rebook that time slot. If we arrive to your appointment and can not get ahold of you to access the yard, your deposit will not be refunded.

For one time or initial cleanings, it is not necessary that you be home as long as we have access to the yard through an outside gate. Dogs must be secured inside until we have a meet and greet.

You will be given a cost estimate based on the details you provide on your request form however, if we arrive and the amount of waste is much more or even less we will adjust your final pricing accordingly. If we arrive and the waste accumulation is only about a week’s worth, we will waive the initial clean-up fee and start your weekly services.

We are not in the business of overcharging for our services however, we also know what a week, month or 6 months of poop accumulation looks like.

DOGS IN THE YARD

For the safety of our technicians and your dogs, all dogs must be inside while we provide our services. If we have been introduced to the dog(s) and they are friendly, we do not mind if they are in the yard. The Customer understands that if on the scheduled day of service, if dogs are left in the yard while you are not home and we have not met the dogs, San Diego Scoop Squad cannot provide services and your service will then be skipped and charges will still apply.

ACCESSING YOUR YARD

The Customer understands that on the scheduled day of service, if San Diego Scoop Squad can not access the area needing cleaning, due to locked or blocked gates or dogs in the yard; your service will be skipped and charges will still apply.

LEAVES, DEBRIS AND TALL GRASS

It is very important to keep your yard maintained. If your yard is not maintained (i.e. – fallen leaves, tree branches, long grass, plant or weed overgrowth) it is extremely hard for us to see and therefore scoop all of the dog poop.

We will always do our best to clean up what we can find however, fallen leaves and long grass can camouflage dog poop making it difficult to see. Long story, short - if we cannot see the dog poop, we cannot scoop the dog poop.

Yard maintenance is also important for our safety. If we can not see where we are walking in the yard due to overgrowth we risk injury when trying to maneuver through the yard.

We understand that maintaining your yard is a lot of work and it may not always be in the best shape. If your grass is tall when we come, there may be some dog waste that is missed. We will be back on our next scheduled visit and will get anything that was missed if yard maintenance is complete. If you find an excessive amount that we missed, please let us know as soon as possible at sdscoopsquad@gmail.com.

If we arrive for our scheduled visit and the yard is completely overgrown and not maintained, for safety precautions we reserve the right to skip the visit and charges will still apply.

WEATHER

San Diego Scoop Squad will work through the rain as long as we can safely do so. The customer understands that if there is extreme weather or flooding, San Diego Scoop Squad will postpone service until the weather has cleared up. Thankfully, San Diego usually has great weather year round!

San Diego Scoop Squad is a MONTHLY subscription service. We do not offer refunds for missed weeks due to weather. Therefore in these cases, we will skip service for that week, and see you the following week.

A refund will not be issued as we still have to pick up all of the dog poop that would have been scooped in the week prior. If you need the area cleaned before your next scheduled service, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee it based on our schedule.

Additionally, we do not want to tear up your yard in any way. If it is muddy, we may skip your yard and wait until the next scheduled visit when things have dried up.

HOLIDAYS & VACATIONS

If your scoop day falls on a FEDERAL holiday you will be notified that we will not be providing services on that day and we will come on the next scheduled service day. Monthly charges will still apply as we will have to clean up double the amount of waste when we return. The week of Thanksgiving, we take off both Thursday and Friday.

To prevent burnout, we shut down our business for 2-3 weeks out of the year. We always shut down the week between Christmas and New Year's Day to spend time with family.

We will also take 1 or 2 full weeks off throughout the year. You will be notified in advance when we plan to take our vacations.

Monthly charges will still apply as we will have to clean up double the amount of waste when we return.
